Encantado Technical Solutions is currently seeking DevOPs Engineer to support an IT Managed Services program for the Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations. The DevOPs Engineer will provide on-site and off-site  application development, implementation, and related support services for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS) with a workforce of approximately 14,000 personnel.

Requirements:

  • Work collaboratively with software developers to deploy and operate our systems. Help automate and streamline operations and processes. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test and production environments. Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration, experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible or an equivalent. Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services. A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby). Knowledge and understanding of best practices and IT operations. 

Education:  BA/BS  in CS Years of Experience:  6

Skills/ Req/Desired:

  • Linux administration with at least 1-year experience using Red Hat Linux
  • Experience with building and installing Linux software from source.
  • Scripting and automation experience on Linux systems using bash or Python.
  • Experience with Git source code management.
  • Experience with ticketing tracking systems (JIRA/Remedy/etc) from taking tickets, working them, following up with customers and resolving/documenting the tickets
  • Time management skills and ability to management multiple priorities
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Experience in a large organization and working in a large team
  • Experience creating documentation of systems and tasks

 

Job Features

NoteAbility to be cleared at the TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q/L level and the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract. Active Clearance at the TS or DOE L level a plus.
