PD 730 System Administrator II
Encantado Technical Solutions is currently seeking a System Administrator II to support an IT program for the Department of Energy at Sandia National Laboratories.
This organization provides modern IT Configuration Management (CM) Platforms and Enterprise IT Services for Linux and Infrastructure. Design and operate technologies and processes to ensure IT systems are reliable, consistent, and secure throughout the lifecycle of the system. The Subcontractor shall:
- Provide Linux server administration plan, design, specify, deploy and maintain server systems.
- Create and maintain maintenance routines to support operational business needs and continuity of services.
- Support all client cyber policy in all design, specification, deployment and maintenance of systems.
- Patch remediation for all server-based and workstation computer systems assigned to the customer support group on various networks.
- Implement of SNL approved patch management software to support manual and automated system installation of OS definition files.
- Automate classified and restricted network equipment OS patching or other automation.
On any given day, may be called on to:
- Process Software Assurance methods to protect environments against vulnerabilities
- Deploy and maintain Linux operating systems in accordance with established IT policies and guidelines for items such as security, networks, and filesystems
- Work with on-premise Cloud and virtualization solutions
Required skills:
- Current active DOE Q clearance
- Experience in Linux system administration
Desired skills:
- Familiarity or experience with virtualization and containers
- Working knowledge of authentication methodologies such as Kerberos, PAM, and LDA
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and other common Internet protocols
- Familiarity or experience with automation tools such as Ansible
- Experience in effectively prioritizing tasks in a constantly changing environment
- Knowledge of CLI, scripting (Bash, Python), and searching/parsing log files
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment
