PD 752 Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Analyst
Encantado Technical Solutions is currently seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Analyst to support an IT program for the Department of Energy at Sandia National Laboratories.
Org 9769: 9769 is responsible for the ownership, architecture, development and implementation of many of Sandia’s enterprise computing services and platforms. These include email architecture and service delivery (Microsoft Exchange), and collaboration architectures {SharePoint infrastructure and advanced SharePoint development). These services are provided across all of Sandia’s main networks–SCN, SPN and SRN. We are also starting to implement and support the O365 services (Exchange Online, MS Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, etc.)
Tasks:
- Support Exchange and SharePoint Infrastructure -Provide Windows server administration and generalized IT End User Support Specialist tasks as needed.
- Plan, design, specify, deploy and maintain server systems.
- Create and maintain maintenance routines to support operational business needs and continuity of services.
- Support all SNL cyber policy in all design, specification, deployment and maintenance of systems.
- Support day-to-day technical operations coordination.
- Patch remediation for all server-based on various networks. The Subcontractor shall have the following experience:
- Skills in Window OS and server administrator best practices including IIS, PowerShell, Win Console and DNS server configuration.
- Skills and knowledge utilizing the SharePoint product for website development and document management needs.
Position for a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) analyst on the DaaS team to help support DaaS+ and ongoing expansion of the service. The DaaS team is responsible for architecting, testing, and moving solutions to production, as well as maintenance and operations of our existing environment. This role would require working closely with other VDI analysts on the team to define and develop solutions that meet customer system requirements and program specifications. In addition, maintain existing hardware and software systems and troubleshooting issues as needed. The VDI solution is accessed by members of the workforce internally on standardized end devices.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter.
- Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Windows OS, including patching on servers
- Applicant must have strong customer service skills, communications skills, documentation skills, and team player
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including strong interpersonal skills
- Strong Windows desktop OS troubleshooting skills and experience
- Must have active DOE L/Q
Desired Skills:
- Experience with VMware Horizon View
- Understanding and preferable experience with both persistent and non-persistent VDI
- Experience supporting thin clients through a management console
