PD 690 Telephony Support Technician
Encantado Technical Solutions is currently seeking a Telephony Support Technician to support an IT program for the Department of Energy at Sandia National Laboratories.
General Position Description
Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains telecommunications equipment. Provides reports, completes requests for new service, and determines methodology for installing telephone service. A Telecommunications Technician II determines appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications including call switches, test trunks and test links, and installs communication circuits. Additionally, Telecommunications Technician II typically reports to a project leader or manager.
Tasks:
This specialist provides IT infrastructure service in support. They provide modern telecommunications systems for data, telephone, wireless LAN, RF Microwave, and encryption capabilities to Sandia with emphasis on securing and protecting Sandia’s information, standardization, and reducing heterogeneity.
The specialist shall maintain and support:
* Telephone MAC Admin Services: Review incoming IT Service Desk requests clarifying and resolve customer requirement issues.
* Telephone MAC Field Operations Services: Install properly operating station equipment (telephones, etc) at the end user’s location and install distribution frame patches and disconnects in communication rooms
* DOE Telephone system operations
* DOE OSP Cable operations
* DOE Voicemail system MAC operations Telephone Trouble Admin Services
* Telephone Central Office Operation and Maintenance Services; Use defined procedures to operate and troubleshoot the Avaya, all remote Avaya nodes, and all associated equipment and install and administer frame patches and disconnects at the phone switch and configure and maintain Telephone ACD system
* Warehouse Management Services: Administer and maintain a database of all inventory items and material resources and complete necessary documentation to accommodate material resource acquisition, distribution, reapplication and reclassification
* Wired-infrastructure Services: Building-to-building cabling (outside plant) and internal-building cabling (inside plant)
* System Administrator: Install, operate and maintain the primary Sandia/DOE/US Air Force UHF Radio Trunk System and back-up UHF IntelliRepeater Site.
Encantado Technical Solutions (ETS) is an unpopulated Small Business Administration-approved mentor-protégé joint venture between Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc. and ECS Federal, LLC. ETS is bolstered by second-tier subcontractors Information International Associates (IIA) and Amentum. ETS provides comprehensive enterprise and mission-embedded IT support for the $400 – $700 million Third-Party Telecommunications and Information Technology Support Services contract at Sandia National Laboratories. Security Clearance Required | Ability to be cleared at the TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q/L level and the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract. Active Clearance at the TS or DOE L level a plus. |
