Encantado Technical Solutions is currently seeking Public Cloud Engineer to support an IT Managed Services program for the Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations. The Public Cloud Engineer will provide on-site and off-site  and related support services for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS) with a workforce of approximately 14,000 personnel.

Requirements:

• Experience developing software with object-oriented languages like Java, C++, or Ruby. Extensive knowledge about REST APIs, you know when to use JSON or XML. Experience with cloud services (OpenStack, Azure Stack AWS). Solid understanding of virtual computing and virtualization software (VMware, KVM). A solid understanding of networking, software defined networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks). Experience with Linux/UNIX systems and the best practices for deploying applications to those stacks. Experience with different databases (Postgres, Casandra, Mongo). Familiar with DevOps principles and methodologies, deployment checklists, and more.

Desired/Required Skills: 

Cloud Computing Engineer that is experience with the operations and management of private cloud services (OpenStack, Azure Stack).  Solid understanding of virtual computing and virtualization software (VMWare, KVM).  A solid understanding of networking and software defined networking.  Familiar with DevOps principles and methodologies, deployment checklists, and more.

Administer and support on-premises Azure Stack private cloud instantiation.  This includes patching, configuration, service and incident fulfillment, and capacity management.  Maintains the integrity of servers and systems to meet established requirements for service levels, disaster recovery, business continuity, and security.  Coordinates and interfaces with customers, suppliers, and domain experts such as networking, storage, and datacenter personnel.  Must be able to sole complex problems involving the integration of a wide variety of technologies including servers, storage, networking, software, middleware and all systems supporting the virtual environments.  Performs the full lifecycle management (analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, integration and maintenance) of the utilization infrastructure, including testing of new hypervisors, integration with automation form ends and Cloud offerings. Position will be responsible for contributing to planning activities such as capacity, scalability, robustness and must be able to quickly learn new technologies and make recommendations to solve new problems.
